1. Have sufficient sleep – if you are not having enough sleep, you are increasing your stress and consequently your Blood Pressure too. To avoid high blood pressure, sleep for good 8 hours in a day.
2. Exercise – make exercise part of your daily routine. Have a morning walk and explore gym if possible.
3. Yoga – Yoga increase the intake of oxygen in our body. Hence, it directly increases the amount of energy too.
4. Pranayam - Pranyaam and especially “anulom-vilom” are very affective in controlling high blood pressure.
5. Dance – it is a great boon if you enjoy dancing. Zumba and aerobics are helpful in having a better blood circulation throughout the body.
6. Eat salad – have a good portion of salad in your meals. It will control your hunger and importantly the salt intake in your body will reduce and so will your Blood Pressure.
7. Balanced Diet – have a special eye on when, what and how much you are eating. We may also prepare a chart which shall encourage us to move towards balanced diets.
8. Stay away from addictions –smoking and consumption of alcohol have to be things of the past. Significant use of cigarettes and alcohol lead to greater production of cholesterol. This further increases our BP.
9. Avoid late night parties – late night parties are common in cities, but they spoil the whole schedule of the person. Your friends might not like this but for your own health you can and should avoid late night parties.
10 Focus on managing stress – try and do things that you like. Try and interact and meet with people that you like. This decreases your stress and hence the blood pressure as well
