Asthma is one of the most common diseases that is spreading at a pace nowadays. Not only in India, but it has patients throughout the globe. Here are the top 10 factors responsible for spread of asthma.

1. Genetic disorder – Almost 50 percent of cases relating to asthma are linked with genes. If there is any instance of asthma in the family history, then his or her off-springs are at risk of catching the disease from their birth.

2. Pollution –Air pollution is at peak nowadays. Increasing pollution translates into more cases of asthma. Increase of sulphur dioxide, particulate matters and oxides of nitrogen can lead to hike in number of complications and asthma.

3. Dust – In developing countries like India, building and construction activities are omnipresent. In these circumstances, dust particles can cause several problems and asthma.

4. Allergy – Allergy either triggers the disease or increases the infections. Due to the disease, the respiratory tracts swell and articles spreading allergy bring coughing and other severe complications when they pass through the pipe.

5. Smoking – Smoking is one of the main reasons behind lung infection. More cigarettes mean more frequent attacks as the respiratory pipes are infected early when the person smokes.

6. Heavy dose of alcohol – It is wrong to assume that only smoking brings asthma. Heavy consumption of alcohol can cause asthma attacks too.

7. Stress and fear – Along with allergy, often when people are subjected to great degree of stress and fear they might stretch their breathings and gradually they are dragged asthma and attacks grow common.

8. Weather – Excessive winter and fluctuations in the climate often cause complications in breathing. In many cases, extreme weather and constant changes cause asthma.

9. Medications – Often specific medications cause problems in breathing and warrant asthma attacks. Some medicines may be beneficial for a few people but can harm others.

10. Hormonal changes – There are frequent changes in hormones in a human. Often changes in secretion of hormones cause problems in breathing. This is more common in females.
