Diet for high blood pressure

 

Often diet and our lifestyle can bring us closer to blood pressure. If you are suffering from BP or hypertension, you must not avoid your diet as there are complications like heart attack waiting for careless patients. Glance at these points and plan your diet chart accordingly

1. Less salt – certain amount of salt and sodium are vital for our body. but large amount of salt can give rise of high BP complications. Hence, it is advised to consume less salt.

2. Fibre-rich diet – apple, carrot, sprouts are good example of edibles that are rich in fibre. Pulses too help in our fight against high BP.

3. Omega 3 fatty acid – fish, fish oil, egg, meat, vegetables and almonds are rich in Omega 3 fatty acid which helps in reducing the aftermaths of higher BP.

4. Low fat Milk – taking a limited amount of calcium helps in controlling BP. Skimmed milk is recommended. More fat increases complications like cholesterol and high BP.

5. Fresh food – stay goodbye to preservatives. They are preserved for days by chemicals. These increase BP.

6. Blueberry and strawberry – if some amount of blueberry and strawberry are part of your daily diet then, you may experience a great degree of relief. Berries and especially Blueberries have Flavonoid which helps in controlling blood pressure.

7. Benefits of potato –potato has potassium and magnesium. They help in strengthening your metabolism too.

8. Oats – we should increase oats in our diet. There are different types of flavours in the market today which are tasty and healthy as well. They have very little concentration of fats.

9. Drinking more water – if you are having a very little amount of water throughout the day then, you might be inviting a lot of complications. Water acts as anti-toxins and removes the harmful waste of the body through sweat and urine.

10. Say no to alcohol –often people have a habit of consuming alcohol before a meal. This can be detrimental for people with high BP. Alcohol leads to complications relating to cholesterol and blood pressure
