1. Garlic – Garlic helps in fight against many diseases. In serious ailments like cholesterol, arthritis, Garlic comes to the rescue and so is the case with asthma. It works as medicinal lotion for the lungs.

2. Hot massage –To decrease the congestion, one should add garlic in mustard oil and warm it. Then with the oil, massage on chest and back can be done. This gives much-needed relief to the respiratory tracts.

3. Camphor – Adding camphor into mustard oil and warm it. Then let it cool and massage chest and back with the oil. This helps in reducing complications caused by asthma.

4. Yoga – Yoga can be effective with asthma and help in controlling its aftermath. ‘anulom-vilom’ along with ‘kapaal-bharti’ and other forms can bring great relief to the patient.

5. Ginger – In normal cough, ginger comes to the rescue. The sap from ginger provides relief to respiratory tracts. In asthma too, ginger acts as a panacea. Adding the sap from ginger with honey and having it thrice a day can bring relief from effects of asthma.

6. Milk and turmeric – The infection from asthma reduces if turmeric is added to warm milk and given to the patient. Turmeric has healing capacity to control the infection. Further the swelling is tracts reduces too. It also fights the cold effect.

7. Avoid cool things – Patients from asthma should avoid cooler edibles. Eating ice-cream, drinking refrigerated water and having cold drink or consuming fruits like banana and guava after sunset could be dangerous and must be avoided.

8. Fenugreek – Boil fenugreek seeds and take them out. Then add garlic and honey to them. Serve the patients daily to bring relief.

9. Oregano tea – Asthma increases in colder weathers. Hence, one should have oregano tea in winters. It keeps the body warm from inside and prevents the body from the effects of cooler weather outside.

10. Avoid dusty things – Patients of asthma should avoid things that accumulate a lot of dust. In edibles, there are items like peanuts that have very smaller dust particles. Food items like these and places like construction sites shall be avoided by the patient.
